Heels Wrap Up First Weekend Of Scrimmages

Chapel Hill, NC -- On a perfect day for baseball at the Bosh, the Blue squad pulled out a 6-5 win in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Blue jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The game's first run came on a bases-loaded walk, followed by a Tyler Ramirez sacrifice fly and a Cody Roberts RBI-single. Blue picked up another run in the second on a Kyle Datres sacrifice fly.
Navy came storming back with five runs in the fourth. Josh Ladowski drove in a run with an infield single, then a Cole Gibbs double drove in a run. Later in the inning, with the bases loaded, Eli Sutherland's double to right center cleared the bases.
Blue tied the score in the fifth on a Brian Miller single, then got the winning run in the ninth. With the bases loaded, Tyler Lynn was hit by a pitch to drive in Utah Jones with the winning run.
Rodney Huchison and Cole Aker were the starters. Seven pitchers threw in relief: J.T. Rogoszewski, A.J. Bogucki, Josh Hiatt, Logan Welch, Chris McCue, Brendon Little and Zach Rice.
Carolina's next closed scrimmage will be on Tuesday.
