Two days later, UNC will host San Diego State on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Fetzer Field. Admission to Sunday's game is free.
Carolina kicked off its 2016 season last weekend with an 11-7 win at James Madison. Senior Aly Messinger had two goals and two assists, and senior Sammy Jo Tracy added two goals and one assist.
UNC leads the all-time series with High Point, 3-0, including a 19-5 win in Chapel Hill early last season.
San Diego State will begin its fifth varsity season this weekend with contests at Elon on Friday night and in Chapel Hill on Sunday. The Tar Heels will be facing the Aztecs for the first time in women's lacrosse.
Sunday's home opener versus San Diego State will begin at 1 p.m. The UNC men's basketball team has a home game that also starts at 1 p.m. on campus, so women's lacrosse fans are encouraged to allow extra time to arrive and park for the game against the Aztecs. Lacrosse fans sould park in the Cobb Deck, the School of Government lot or the Highway 54 visitors' lot (all located near Fetzer Field).
