Watts Garners Third ACC Rookie Honor

With two weeks remaining in the regular season, Watts leads all first-year players in the ACC with three weekly rookie selections during the 2015-16 campaign.
Hailing from just outside Charlotte in Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, Watts averaged 18.5 points and 8.5 rebounds for North Carolina in two games last week. She led her team in scoring in both games with 18 points and eight rebounds in a 71-67 victory over Virginia Tech on Thursday, Jan. 11 in Chapel Hill, and added 19 points and nine rebounds in a loss at No. 10 Florida State on Sunday in Tallahassee, Florida.
Among ACC freshmen, Watts ranks second in the league in scoring (13.8), rebounding (6.9) and blocked shots (1.2), fifth in assists (2.6) and sixth in steals (1.3) per game.
Carolina (14-13, 4-8 Atlantic Coast Conference) hosts Pitt on Thursday at 7 p.m. on ESPN3/WatchESPN.
