North Carolina Drops Decision To Pitt

Freshman Destinee Walker registered double figures for the sixth-straight outing with a game-high 20 points, while reigning Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week Stephanie Watts scored 16 points for North Carolina (14-14, 4-9 Atlantic Coast Conference). Hillary Summers added 13 points.
Pitt (12-14. 4-9) received a balanced attack with four players in double figures. Aysia Bugg had a team-high 15 points, while Stasha Carey contributed 14 points and 15 rebounds. Fred Potvin had 12 points and Brenna Wise added 10 points and grabbed 13 boards.
With the game tied 8-8 midway through the first quarter, the Panthers outscored the Heels 37-8 the remainder of the first half to lead 45-16 at halftime, the largest deficit Carolina has been dealt this season at intermission.
Carolina went 11 minutes, 48 seconds between made field goals that spanned the first and second quarters. Watts snapped the scoreless streak with a three-pointer at the 3:33 mark of the second stanza.
Carolina owned an 18-11 scoring edge over the Panthers in the third quarter, and got within 15 points of Pitt in the fourth.
