Three Tar Heels Earn Top 10 Finishes At Regionals

Three Tar Heels earned top-10 finishes Saturday as the North Carolina men's and women's fencing teams competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals in Bethlehem, Pa. The day's best finish came from junior Amanda Lalezarian, who took fifth in women's foil. Sophomore Meredith Bozentka was sixth in women's sabre. The top men's finish came from sophomore Matthew Shlimak, who was 10th in men's epee.

The competition was to be held at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., but an outbreak of norovirus closed the campus for the weekend, so action was moved to nearby Moravian College.
