Nine Tar Heels Named To EAGL Academic Team

BALTIMORE, MD (March 11, 2016) – Nine North Carolina gymnasts have been named to the All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Scholastic Team.
Headlining the honorees are seniors Lexi Cappalli and Josselyn Mackey, who have been a member of the EAGL Scholar Team all four seasons at UNC. Cappalli is a double major in math and business, while Mackey is a biology major. Senior Sarah Peterson, a sociology major, earned the recognition for a second time.
In order to be honored as a Scholastic Team member, a gymnast must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above after the 2015 calendar year GPA is factored in. Freshmen are eligible with Fall 2015 semester grades only.
