On defensive adjustments in second half
“They did a really good job in the first half. They were making really good plays and in the second half we just played back and just let the guard come to the big while the guard gets in front of the ball. That helps our bigs because their bigs just rolled straight into our and it cut off all penetration from them.”
On discussion in locker room at halftime
“We just had to pick it up. We knew what we had to do defensively and they did a really good job of setting the tone to start the second half. It really looked like it was just jitters for everyone, but once we got over that everyone came out of the locker room and was really upbeat. Everyone looked really comfortable and it showed in the second half.”
On Roy Williams at halftime in locker room
“Coach didn't come in and yell at us. He just came in and said we have to pick it up if we want to play the next game. We've all been through so much this season and it was a little adjustment of picking it up on the defensive end. The coaches gave us something to try in the second half and we did a really good job with it.”

“We weren't nervous at halftime, we were just upset that we played a little tight in the first half. We were the ones being reactive instead of being proactive, and you can't do that if you want to be a better team. It just took us a while to get going but once we did we were fine.”
On tight start in first half
“I don't know, I mean we were playing a pseudo home game and had a bunch of people in the crowd. They would go on a run and we had the tendency to maybe get a little tight. Plus, the way they were attacking us was what the problem was. We were letting them attack us, they were the ones getting in the paint and controlling the backboards. That was the biggest problem but once we relaxed everything kind of corrected itself. “
On aggressiveness from Florida Gulf Coast
“No I mean they've had a history of success in the tournament. They're a confident team that just won their play-in game by a lot so we knew they were going to come out strong. I think their big guys were a little more effective than we were expecting them to be early.”
