No. 6 Carolina Visits Duke In ACC Road Opener

DURHAM, N.C. --- Sixth-ranked North Carolina visits Duke Friday for the first of a three-game series at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Carolina is 14-2 and 2-1 in league play after winning a pair of midweek games over ECU and Elon. Duke, who lost two of three to Virginia in its ACC opener, is 10-7 after beating UMES on Tuesday.

NORTH CAROLINA-DUKE SERIES HISTORY
• North Carolina is 183-100-2 all-time against Duke, including a 41-13 record against the Blue Devils under Mike Fox.
• Carolina has won 11 of 15 in the series, including a three-game sweep in Chapel Hill in 2013. Duke swept the Tar Heels in 2014 in Durham, but UNC bounced back by winning two of three last season in Chapel Hill.
• Prior to 2014, Duke's last series win came in 2010 in Durham. The Blue Devils won two of three in Chapel Hill in 2009 and two of three at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in 2010 before Carolina swept nine straight games from 2011-13.
• The all-time series dates back to 1891 when Carolina beat Trinity College 8-3.
