BATON ROUGE, La. – The University of North Carolina women's golf team finished the LSU Tiger Classic with their best round of the tournament on Tuesday shooting a 23-over par 311. Lexi Harkins paced the Tar Heels at 3-over 75 par in the final round.

“We were disappointed with our play at LSU,” head coach Jan Mann said. “The team struggled with the wind the first day, got off to a bad start the second day and couldn't get any putts to drop today. We will regroup and work hard this week to get ready for the upcoming tournament in Greensboro.”

Harkins finished the tournament at 17-over par and tied for 34th. Also tied at 34th was Leslie Cloots who shot a 6-over par today. Elizabeth Mallett finished her final round at 5-over par and tied for 68th. Bryana Nguyen was also tied for 68th at 26-over par after her 10-over par performance today. Kelly Whaley capped her tournament at 24-over par after her 9-over par final round.

Cheni Xu, competing as an individual, finished the tournament at 23-over par after posting a 9-over par final round. Xu tied for 56th.

Duke claimed the team title followed up by Arkansas, Tulane, and Wake forest. Tied for fifth were NC State and LSU. North Carolina finished 13th.

Duke's Celine Boutier was the clear sole champion of the tournament. Boutier finished at 8-under par. Tied for second were Madison Opfer of Tulane and Virginia Elena Carta from Duke at 6-over par.
