Tar Heels Wrap Up Successful Weekend At Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH – The University of North Carolina track and field teams finished the Raleigh Relays on Saturday to complete a successful weekend. Many Tar Heels had personal bests and top national times.
Kenny Selmon earned another collegiate victory in his young career. Selmon took first in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a top time of 51.06.
The Gruesome Twosome of O'Neal Wanliss and Cory Nicholls went 3-4 in the men's 800m on Saturday. Wanliss came in at 1:50.78 while Nicholls was a tad behind at 1:50.95.
Alexis Gannon jumped 39-8 ¾ (12.11 meters) in the women's triple jump taking fifth overall.
Natisha Dixon took fifth in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles running 13.86.
Avana Story finished fifth in the women's hammer going a distance of 190-2 (57.96 meters).
The men's 4x400 team of Amari DeVaugh, Kenny Selmon, O'Neal Wanliss and Cory Nicholls ran 3:13.00 to finish fifth overall.
Freshman Darryl Shaw placed seventh in the men's triple jump after jumping 48-3 ¼ (14.71 meters).

The Tar Heels return to the track next Friday at the Duke Invitational. It's another great opportunity for local fans to support the Tar Heels this outdoor season.
