Carolina Visits Miami For Top-10 Matchup

CORAL GABLES, Fla. --- No. 7 North Carolina faces perhaps its toughest test of the season to date when the Tar Heels open a three-game series against No. 2 Miami Friday night at Mark Light Field. Carolina is one game back of the Hurricanes at 6-3 in the ACC and 20-4 overall following a 10-2 win over Davidson Tuesday night in Chapel Hill. Miami is also 20-4 on the year and the Hurricanes moved to the top of the ACC Coastal standings last weekend with a three-game home sweep of Clemson. UM's midweek game at Florida Atlantic was rained out. All three games will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

NORTH CAROLINA-MIAMI SERIES HISTORY
• North Carolina is 26-34-1 all-time against Miami, including a 16-19-1 mark under head coach Mike Fox.
• Miami took two of three in a tightly contested series last year in Chapel Hill. The Hurricanes rallied for a pair of 4-3 wins to open the series before Carolina rolled to a 10-3 victory on Sunday.
• UNC's last series win over UM came in 2013, when the Tar Heels took two of three from the Canes in Chapel Hill during the regular season and added an eight-inning mercy-rule win in the ACC tournament.
• When the two teams last met in Coral Gables, Miami won two of three in 2014. The Hurricanes grabbed the series-opener 6-5 in 16 innings before Carolina rebounded for an 11-2 win in the nightcap of a doubleheader. UM took the series finale 2-0 with Bryan Radziewski outdueling Zac Gallen.
