Summers Named Overall Champion At Year-End Banquet

Redshirt junior forward Hillary Summers was honored as the team's overall champion for receiving the most cumulative points in all statistical categories maintained throughout the season.
Summers also received the strength and conditioning award.
Freshman Stephanie Watts, the ACC Freshman of the Year, earned top offensive player of the year honors, while classmate Destinee Walker brought home the team's best defender award in her first season.
Sophomore Jamie Cherry was selected the most improved player on the squad, while Erika Johnson was named sixth player of the year in her final season with the Tar Heels.
The coaches' award went to to five student-athletes - Hadiya Bembry, Anne Corrigan, Rachel McGirt, Marissa Riley and Paige Neuenfeldt - who all joined the team as walk-on's and made an impact on the program all season long.
Paris Kea was given the award for most improved strength and conditioning, while Hillary Fuller was named most inspirational.
Volunteer of the year went to head video coordinator Megan Buckland, while Hamo Tsang earned the outstanding service award.
