CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Logan Warmoth clubbed his first home run of the year and Brian Miller had his second straight three-hit game as No. 19 North Carolina handled visiting Campbell 9-4 Wednesday night at Boshamer Stadium. Brandon Riley and Zack Gahagan added two hits apiece for the Tar Heels, who will break until next Tuesday for final exams.
Warmoth's two-run blast to left started the scoring in the second, and Gahagan's RBI single later in the frame scored Eli Sutherland to make it 3-0. Carolina (28-15) added one more in the third and three more in the fourth to support a solid start from Rodney Hutchison Jr.
The Tar Heels rounded out their offensive output in the seventh, scoring twice on RBIs from Cody Roberts and Miller.
Hutchison breezed through five scoreless innings before departing in the sixth. Brett Daniels stranded a pair of inherited runners to maintain a comfortable UNC lead, and the sophomore righty struck out four over three solid innings of relief. Cole Aker got the final two outs to wrap up a second straight midweek victory.
Matt Parrish had three hits and two RBIs to lead Campbell (22-21). Nick Thayer (6-5) allowed four runs on eight hits in three innings for the Camels.
Carolina will take the weekend off for final exams before hosting VCU Tuesday, May 3.
