NORTH CAROLINA-NOTRE DAME SERIES HISTORY
• North Carolina is 2-4 all-time against Notre Dame, including a 1-4 record under head coach Mike Fox.
• Notre Dame swept a three-game series in South Bend last season, winning a doubleheader on Saturday before taking the finale on Sunday. That was the first meeting of the two teams since Notre Dame joined the league for the 2013-14 school year.
• The Tar Heels and Irish split a pair of games at the 2005 NCAA Gainesville Regional. Carolina won the opening-round game 5-1 before Notre Dame triumphed in an elimination game, 3-0.
• The only other game in the series came in 1956. UNC won a 14-4 contest in Tallahassee, Florida.
