June 1, 2016 | Men's Tennis
The season's final Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings were released on Wednesday, confirming that senior Brett Clark and sophomore Robert Kelly earned All-America honors for 2016. They join teammates Jack Murray, Ronnie Schneider and Brayden Schnur, all of whom earned All-America honors in Tulsa, Okla., last week, to give each of the Tar Heels' top five players the prestigious recognition.
Clark and Kelly were fourth in the final ITA doubles ranking. They were set to compete in the NCAA Doubles Championship but had to withdraw due to an injury to Kelly. Schneider earned All-America honors for reaching the Round of 16 in singles, and Murray and Schnur were honored for reaching the quarterfinals in doubles.
As a team, UNC finished fifth overall.
In the final singles rankings, Schneider finished No. 23, Schnur No. 30, Clark No. 53 and Kelly No. 121. In doubles in addition to Clark and Kelly at No. 4, Murray and Schnur were No. 21.
