Perry In Seventh At Marathon Classic

SYLVANIA, Ohio – Former North Carolina golfer Katherine Perry shot a 3-under 68 in the opening round of the Marathon Classic on the LPGA Tour. Perry's 68 was tied for seventh heading into the second round.

Perry's first round had five birdies and two bogeys with four of the five birdies coming on par-4s. Perry does not have an LPGA Tour Card and a high finish at the tournament could be significant in her pursuit of a Tour Card for next year.

Another former North Carolina golfer, Casey Grice, shot a 71 in the opening round.
