Women’s Basketball Hosts Tribute to Black History Month

CHAPEL HILL - The North Carolina women's basketball program has teamed up with the Carolina Black Caucus to host a tribute to Black History Month on Thursday, Feb. 16 when the Tar Heels take on Georgia Tech inside Carmichael Arena at 7 p.m.
The game will feature special performances, black history trivia and a special recognition of African American pioneers from women's basketball and the university community.
Honors & Recognitions will include:
Karen L. Parker, UNC's first African-American female undergraduate
Hortense K. McClinton - UNC's first African American faculty member
Kathy Crawford, Henrietta Walls and Deanna Thomas - first African American female scholarship athletes to play at Carolina
Rochelle Small - the first African-American woman to play varsity basketball for the Tar Heels
UNC Softball: Tar Heels Battle, Fall to Stanford, 15-12
