Four Corners: Louisville Visits In Another Big Game

CHAPEL HILL—Carolina Basketball is in the midst of an unprecedented stretch of four consecutive home games played against ranked opponents. The Tar Heels beat Virginia in the second of those games last Saturday night and will welcome Louisville on Wednesday before the season finale against Duke on March 4.

1. NEWS & NOTES
♦ Sophomore Kenny Williams suffered a right knee injury last week. He will undergo surgery this week, and his 2016-17 season is likely over.
♦ The Tar Heels held their annual Special Olympics clinic on Sunday afternoon. Check it out:

2. LAST WEEK
♦ Carolina took the short drive to Raleigh last Wednesday night and dominated North Carolina State for a second time this seasson, posting a 97-73 victory. Here are the highlights:
♦ The Tar Heels also blitzed Virginia, holding the 14th-ranked Cavaliers to the fewest points (41) ever allowed by UNC in the Roy Williams era in a 65-41 win on Saturday. Justin Jackson had 18 points in the first half alone. Here are highlights from GoHeels TV:

♦ At halftime of the Virginia win, 2016 Tar Heel graduates Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige were on hand to be honored for having their jerseys hung in the Smith Center rafters. They are the 50th and 51st Tar Heels to be so honored. Watch video of the ceremony:

♦ After the win over Virginia, Stephen Schramm of the Fayetteville Observer wrote that as Johnson & Paige ascended into the rafters, Jackson is making his case for similar honors. C.L. Brown of ESPN agreed in his postgame column.
3. UP NEXT
♦ The Tar Heels will host Louisville on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. (ESPN) in the next-to-last home game of the 2016-17 season for Carolina. Following that contest, Carolina will visit Pitt on Saturday at noon and Virginia next Monday on ESPN's Big Monday. Duke will visit the Smith Center on Saturday night March 4.
