Sylvia Hatchell picked up her 700th career victory at North Carolina when her Tar Heels picked up a 72-56 win over Clemson on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016. Jamie Cherry paced North Carolina with a team-leading 16 points on 12-of-16 shooting from the free throw line. Hillary Summers notched her fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Stephanie Watts and Destinee Walker had 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Behind a school-record tying 14 three-pointers, including six alone from Jamie Cherry, North Carolina earned an 83-70 victory over No. 18 NC State on Sunday. The Tar Heels shot a sizzling 62 percent in the second half on their way to snapping a five-game losing streak. Cherry scored all of her game-high 23 points in the second half. Paris Kea flirted with a triple-double again with 21 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, while Stephanie Watts had 19 points and eight rebounds. Destinee Walker chipped in 12.
