Krause Named New Voice Of Carolina WBB

CHAPEL HILL - Learfield's Tar Heel Sports Properties names Matt Krause the new voice of Carolina women's basketball for the upcoming 2018-19 season. Krause assumes the play-by-play role previously held by Walter Storholt, who steps away after seven years to focus on his business career. Krause joins the Tar Heel Sports Network from his alma mater, Elon University, where he currently serves as a play-by-play broadcaster, color analyst and broadcast host for multiple sports, including football and basketball.
"I'm honored and excited to join the Carolina women's basketball family as the team's new play-by-play broadcaster," said Krause. "The passion and dedication of Tar Heel fans is second to none, and I look forward to immersing myself in such a tradition-rich community. Thank you to Coach Hatchell, Chuck Schroeder, and Jones Angell for entrusting me with this role. Go Heels!"
Outside of Elon, Krause has served as a studio host for football, basketball and baseball radio broadcasts for major NCAA Division I Power Five programs at IMG College in Winston-Salem, N.C. He also previously served four seasons in Minor League Baseball as voice of the Burlington Royals.
In addition to his play-by-play duties, Krause will host the Coach Hatchell radio show during the 2018-19 season.
