Tar Heel Men's Lacrosse Team Holds Annual Team Banquet
October 6, 2018 | Men's Lacrosse
Senior William McBride honored as Carolina's 2018 MVP.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team was proud to host its annual team banquet on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Loudermilk Center for Excellence on the Tar Heel campus in Chapel Hill. In addition to honoring players who had won awards previously announced by the ACC and USILA, the Tar Heel lacrosse family used the occasion to announce the winners of its 2018 team awards.
As is the annual highlight of the event, the evening featured the emcee skills of UNC head coach Joe Breschi while various members of his staff were there to help with passing out team awards. A two-time team award winner was senior midfielder William McBride who spent his career as one of the nation's most underrated players. That slight was taken care of as the senior from Baltimore, Md. was named the team's overall MVP as well as the team's defensive MVP during the evening's festivities.
Following is a complete list of the 2018 Carolina lacrosse team award winners. Next up for the Tar Heels is a trip to Baltimore, Md. next weekend for the annual Michael R. Breschi Scholarship Game against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
