• The Tar Heels were ranked No. 1 in the nation in its two previous appearances in the Las Vegas Invitational.
• This is Carolina's first game in Las Vegas since 12/17/2016 when Kentucky beat the Tar Heels, 103-100 at T-Mobile Arena in the CBS Sports Classic.
• Thursday's game vs. Texas marks the second year in a row and the fourth time overall the Tar Heels will play on Thanksgiving. Last year, UNC beat Portland, 102-78, in Portland, Ore., in PK80; on 11/27/2014, Carolina beat UCLA in the Bahamas; and on 11/27/1997, the Tar Heels beat UCLA, 109-68, in the Great Alaska Shootout.

The graduate student scored 583 points in 73 games over parts of three seasons at Pitt and has 408 points in 31 games in two seasons as a Tar Heel.
