Know Before You Go: Dean E. Smith Center
November 8, 2018 | Men's Basketball
CHAPEL HILL—The Dean E. Smith Center has been the home of University of North Carolina men's basketball since 1986, but there are a number of new features in the arena for the 2018-19 season.
CONSTRUCTION
Fans are reminded to be mindful of the active construction around the Smith Center. Staff and signage will be in place to help fans navigate the construction. The Carolina Basketball Museum will be open until one hour prior to tipoff for non-conference games. Due to construction, the museum will be closed prior to each home Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Basketball game during the 2018-19 season.
Due to the construction of the new media center building in front of the Koury Natatorium, the line forming area for Tar Heel Express riders is much smaller. UNC officials encourage fans who park in the Manning Lots to enter and exit the Dean E. Smith Center at Entrance D via walking behind the Koury Natatorium.
Staff and signage will be in place to help fans navigate the construction.
The GoHeelsGameDay Fan Text Service will be available which allows staff and fans to share concerns and questions and can expect to receive a timely response (919-887-9910).
Carolina Athletics is excited to expand its Tar Heel Ambassador Program to strategic locations throughout campus to offer customer experience support. Look for the pink shirts!
