Bailey Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina sophomore Janelle Bailey was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after a 30-point, 14-rebound performance against Howard.
Hailing from Charlotte, N.C., Bailey earns her first career conference player of the week award after taking home rookie of the week honors on seven occasions in route to being named the 2018 ACC Freshman of the Year
Against Howard, Bailey tied her career high with 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting, and hauled in a season-high 14 boards in the 85-63 victory over the Bison last Friday in Chapel Hill.Â
The 6-4 center ranks fifth in the ACC in both scoring (17.2) and rebounding (9.4) per game.Â
North Carolina (9-5) begins league play at No. 3 Louisville on Thursday from the KFC YUM! Center at 7 p.m.
