Four Tar Heels Earn IWLCA All-Region Honors

CHAPEL HILL—Four University of North Carolina women's lacrosse players earned All-South Region honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association for 2018, the IWLCA announced on Friday. Senior midfielder Marie McCool, senior attacker Ela Hazar and sophomore attacker Katie Hoeg grabbed first-team accolades. Freshman attacker Jamie Ortega was on the second team.

The IWLCA has honored 128 student-athletes in Division I with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2018. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-America team.

The IWLCA will celebrate the 2018 All-Americas during Divisional All-America Announcement Shows, which will be launched online in mid-June.
