Although the end of the 2017-18 academic year has been in the rear view mirror for just a few days, UNC's first session of summer school started late this week. Most of the returning players for 2018-19 are taking summer classes in both summer sessions while also working out and playing pickup games with the annual pilgrimage of former Tar Heel players returning to Chapel Hill with the warm weather.
Here's some of the latest news on Tar Heel basketball you may have missed.
1. NEWS & NOTES
• Carolina posted a perfect Academic Progress Rate of 1000 for the years  2013-14 through 2016-17. The basketball team earned its sixth top-10 award in the 13-year history of the APR and its first in seven years.
• Tar Heels Joel Berry II, Kane Ma, Theo Pinson and Aaron Rohlman are now officially UNC graduates:

• As a video supplement to the "Thank You, Carolina" article Berry wrote for The Players' Tribune earlier this month, the site tweeted a video of Berry and his mother discussing how his love for UNC was instilled at a young age:

• At the recent ACC meetings in Florida, Roy Williams joined other conference coaches in commenting on the recent Rice Commission report on the state of college basketball. As WRAL SportsFan reports, Williams sees the suggestions as a good start to what could be a lengthy process.
• WTVD has a video interview with Williams, during which the UNC head coach comments on the Rice Commission, the likeness issue, transfers, Luke Maye and more.
2. LAST WEEK
• Pinson received an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine:
Late addition to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, league sources say: North Carolina's Theo Pinson. The 6-foot-6 guard has ability to play and defend multiple positions and had standout career at UNC that included 2017 NCAA title.

• Berry reflected on his Tar Heel playing career and his future at a recent barnstorming stop in New Bern.
3. 2018-19 SEASON TIDBITS
• Incoming freshman Nassir Little hasn't even arrived in Chapel Hill yet, but Sports Illustrated has already tabbed him as the No. 3 prospect for the 2019 NBA Draft.

4. TAR HEELS IN THE PROS
• ESPN and Netflix will be producing a 10-part documentary on Tar Heel legend Michael Jordan, The Last Dance, with the "full participation" of the former Chicago Bull star and current Charlotte Hornets owner. The series is slated for a 2019 release.
• NBA teams seeking a head coach reportedly continue to be intrigued by former Tar Heel wing Jerry Stackhouse. As the Detroit Free Press writes, Stackhouse is "seen as one of the best young coaches on the market."
• Tar Heel legend, Naismith Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Laker television analyst James Worthy established a scholarship at his alma mater in Gastonia, Ashbrook High School. Worthy founded a scholarship in honor of his former prep coach, Larry Rhodes.
