Pickett, Ramsey Named to All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Brittany Pickett and Kiani Ramsey have been named to the All-ACC Academic Softball Team for strong academic and athletic performance for the 2018 season, the league announced Monday.
Earning her second ACC academic honor, Pickett is a rising junior from Indian Trail, North Carolina, pursuing a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. Pickett anchored UNC's pitching staff, making 37 starts while hitting .313 with a team-best slugging percentage of .663.
From Portland, Texas, Ramsey is entering her senior year, pursuing a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. An outfielder, Ramsey led Carolina's offense with a .374 average on 58 hits in her first season at Carolina.
Florida State's Kylee Hanson was named the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year to wrap up her collegiate career. Louisville garnered six selections while Florida State picked up four. Duke, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Pitt each had three. Boston College, North Carolina and Syracuse had two apiece while Virginia and Virginia Tech picked up one each.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
