No. 6 UNC To Host NCAA Super Regional, Opens Play At 11 A.M. Friday

CHAPEL HILL --- The No. 6 North Carolina Tar Heels will host No. 11 Stetson Hatters this weekend in Chapel Hill in the NCAA Super Regional starting on Friday, June 8, at Boshamer Stadium, the NCAA announced Tuesday morning. Carolina's first game against Stetson will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday with the other two games slated for noon starts on Saturday and Sunday.
Riding a current 16-game home winning streak, the Tar Heels went 3-0 last weekend in the Chapel Hill Regional with a 11-0 shutout of North Carolina A&T and then two wins over Houston, a 4-3 win on Saturday and a 19-11 win on Sunday.
Stetson, winners of 18 straight, went 3-0 in the DeLand Regional with an 8-3 victory over Hartford on Friday and back-to-back wins over Oklahoma State, a 10-3 win on Saturday and 11-1 victory on Sunday.
The Tar Heels and the Hatters have played each other 13 times with the last meeting coming in 1985 when the two teams split a pair of games at Stetson. All time, the Hatters hold a 8-5 advantage in the series.
All-session tickets packages for the weekend will go on sale Wednesday at noon. Single-game tickets will be available starting Thursday at noon. They will be $15 for a single game, $30 for full session tickets.
Parking will be available in the Rams Head Deck for $10 and in the Craige Deck for free (levels 5-9). Beginning at 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, there will also be free parking available in the Bowles Lot, the Raleigh Road Visitors Lot and on Stadium Drive. Disability parking is available for $10 in the Rams Head Deck. Ridge Road will be closed to through traffic for the weekend.
