Tar Heels Release 2018-19 Roster

CHAPEL HILL—The University of North Carolina and head coach Roy Williams released the 2018-19 Tar Heel men's basketball roster on Wednesday. Â
The Tar Heels return 11 letterwinners from the 2017-18 squad that went 26-11 overall and 11-7 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
Three starters return, including senior All-America forward Luke Maye, senior guard Kenny Williams and graduate student guard Cameron Johnson.Â
Other returners include juniors Seventh Woods, Brandon Robinson and Shea Rush and sophomores Andrew Platek, Garrison Brooks, Sterling Manley, Walker Miller and Brandon Huffman.
Three newcomers have joined the Carolina program for 2018-19.  Rechon "Leaky" Black is a 6-7 guard from Concord, N.C., who attended Cox Mill High School. Nassir Little, the Most Valuable Player of the McDonald's All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic last spring, is a 6-6 forward from Orange Park, Fla.  Coby White, the leading scorer in North Carolina prep history, is a 6-5 guard from Goldsboro, N.C.Â
Uniform numbers for the freshmen include No. 1 for Black, No. 2 for White and No. 5 for Little.
Also newly eligible to play for Carolina is K.J. Smith (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), a sophomore who sat out the 2017-18 campaign after transfering from the University of the Pacific . Smith is the son of former UNC All-America point guard Kenny Smith.Â
