Tar Heels Tabbed No. 3 in Preseason Poll

The University of North Carolina men's soccer team opens the 2018 season ranked as the No. 3 team in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll released Tuesday afternoon.
Carolina was the highest ranked of the seven ACC teams in this year's preseason top 25 as they were followed by No. 5 Wake Forest, No. 6 Louisville, No. 10 Duke, No. 11 Clemson, No. 15 Virginia and No. 17 Notre Dame.
The Tar Heels enter the 2018 season coming off three straight ACC Coastal Division Championships and the programs eighth appearance in the NCAA Men's College Cup. Carolina will kick off the regular season on August 24 at 7:30 p.m. against ETSU in Greensboro, N.C. at Bryan Park before closing out the Carolina Nike Classic against No. 2 Indiana in Cary on Sunday, August 26 at 7: 30 p.m.
Over the last 10 seasons, Carolina has seen unprecedented success as is leads all other D-I programs in the following:
