Three Singles, Two Doubles Advance At ITA All-Americans

TULSA, Okla. - North Carolina saw three singles players advance and both its doubles teams on Thursday on the second day of the 2019 ITA Women's All-American Championships.
Carolina is the only school to have three singles competitors remaining in the main draw and along with UCF are the only two to have a pair left in main draw doubles.
Third seed Alexa Graham is the second-highest seed remaining in the field heading to the Round of 16 on Friday. She took down No. 26 Chiara Lommer of Michigan in the second round, 6-2, 6-3.
No. 5 seed Sara Daavettila defeated No. 84 Andrea Reami of NC State, 6-3, 6-1, while No. 10 seed Cameron Morra did the same to No. 50 Angela Kulikov of USC, 6-2, 6-4.
Second seed Makenna Jones, who won a pair of tiebreakers to win in the first round, fell to No. 37 Vivian Wolff of Georgia, 6-0, 7-5.
After doubles was cancelled on Wednesday due to poor weather in the Tulsa area, Thursday saw the field trimmed to eight remaining teams after a full day of action.
No. 2 seed of Jones and Morra breezed through two victories in the bottom half of the bracket, first disposing of No. 27 Holly Hutchinson and Brooke Pilkington of ODU, 8-1, and later in the day they beat Lenka Antonijevic and Yuliya Kzelbasheva of DePaul, 8-2.
Jones and Morra are the top seed remaining in the doubles field.
Meanwhile No. 20 Graham and Daavettila def. No. 3 seed Elysia Bolton and Jada Hart of UCLA, 8-7 (4), in the first round and then breezed past No. 19 Eleni Christofi and Vivian Wolff of Georgia, 8-3.
Round of 16 singles begins Friday at 1 pm ET followed by quarterfinals matches at 4:30 pm ET. Doubles is slated for 7:15 pm ET.
