• UNC begins a two-game road swing by traveling to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech on Oct. 5.Â
• UNC is 8-19-1 all-time on the road at Georgia Tech. The Tar Heels are 2-9 against the Yellow Jackets going back to 1997 when the Heels picked up a 16-13 victory in what was Mack Brown's final season of his first stint as head coach at UNC.Â
• Carolina's last win in Atlanta was a 38- 31 triumph in 2015. Georgia Tech led 21-0 before UNC began its comeback with two touchdowns in the final 90 seconds of the first half. Wide receiver Quinshad Davis threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to quarterback Marquise Williams to cap the comeback win.Â
• The Tar Heels ended a streak of eight straight losses at Georgia Tech in 2015.Â
• Carolina and Georgia Tech have met on the football field every season since 1980.Â
• The series dates back to 1915 when the Jackets started a streak of four-straight victories with a 23-3 win in Atlanta.Â
