Carolina Welcomes Miami, Florida State to Carmichael Arena

CHAPEL HILL –  Coming off a pair of wins at NC State and at home vs. Virginia Tech, North Carolina welcomes Miami and Florida State to Carmichael Arena Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at noon, respectively.

Doors open one hour prior to match start. Fans can watch Friday's match on ACCNX. Sunday's match is carried live by Fox Sport South (RSN) and ACCNX (subject to blackout). Friday is Hometown Heroes night and UNC will recognize local heroes during the match. The Tar Heels will sign autographs on the concourse following Sunday's match.

Recently for the Tar Heels (5-9, 2-2 ACC)
Coming off a pair of back-to-back ACC wins, the Tar Heels resume conference play at home vs. Miami and No. 23 Florida State. Last week, Carolina picked up its first comeback win of the season with a 3-2 win at NC State. UNC continued with a 3-1 win at home vs. Virginia Tech in the ACC home opener Sunday. Parker Austin was named the ACC Freshman of the Week for her efforts while redshirt-freshman Lauren Harrison upped her single-match best for the third consecutive match to 22 kills. UNC had 10+ blocks for the eighth time in 2019 – including a season best of 19.5 against the Wolfpack.

Leaving the Sunshine State for the first time since Sept. 14, Miami travels to North Carolina after most recently defeating Virginia, 3-2 at home Sunday. The Hurricanes are 3-1 in ACC play with their only loss to No. 4 Pittsburgh. Posting 10+ kills in all but one match, freshman Kennedy Prince leads UM's offense with 159 kills.

Series: FSU leads, 43-23 (FSU won, 3-0 on Nov. 21, 2018 in Chapel Hill, N.C.)
Florida State returns to Carmichael Arena for the second time this season after going 1-1 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in August. The Seminoles opened ACC play with three-straight wins before dropping a four-set match to No. 4 Pitt. All-ACC Preseason selection Payton Caffrey leads the Seminoles with 161 kills and 124 digs.
