March 10, 2019 | Fencing
Freshman Beni Rabinowitz placed third in men's sabre to lead the North Carolina fencing team Saturday at NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals. His was one of several standout performances for the Tar Heels during a day of competition at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.
Other top performances on Saturday came from junior Jackie Litynski, who placed fifth in women's sabre; junior Justine de Grasse, who was eighth in women's epee; and junior Wei Chee Chen, who placed ninth in women's foil.
Senior Matthew Garrelick also turned in a strong performance in men's sabre, placing 10th.
