March 8, 2019 | Women's Basketball, Academics
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior Taylor Koenen makes her third career appearance on the ACC All-Academic Team, announced Friday by the league office.Â
Koenen, a native of Savage, Minnesota, has excelled in both the classroom as a business administration major, and on the court as the only Tar Heel to start all 31 games in the 2018-19 season.Â
She has been a major contributor to a Carolina club that is in the midst of its best season since 2014-15. Koenen's third season in Chapel Hill has produced career high numbers of 9.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
No. 8 seed UNC (18-13) takes on top seed Notre Dame in a ACC Tournament quarterfinal contest on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum.Â
