Carolina Travels to Virginia Tech for ACC Coastal Battle

CHAPEL HILL – Winners of 11 of their past 13 games, the Tar Heels will battle No. 21 Virginia Tech for the top of the ACC Coastal, playing a three-game series, Friday and Saturday in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Friday's doubleheader is slated for 4 p.m. at Tech Softball Park. First pitch Saturday is at 1 p.m. Fans unable to attend can watch on the ACC Network Extra

North Carolina is coming off a pair of historic wins over then-ranked No. 3 Florida State and a road victory over Campbell. Brittany Pickett anchors UNC in the circle with 16 wins and a 2.03 ERA. Led by Kiani Ramsey's .380 average, four Tar Heels are all batting over. 300. Recently returning to the batting order, Pickett has five home runs and three doubles in 22 at-bats.

Behind Hannah George's seventh complete game, North Carolina picked up a 7-2 road win at Campbell. Capitalizing on eight Camel miscues, the Tar Heels scored three unearned runs throughout the game. Carolina jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first before extending it to six in the fourth. Brittany Pickett sent a sac-fly to right, concluding UNC's score at seven. Campbell continued to fight and scored a pair of runs on Christina Hall's triple in the sixth to finalize the score at 7-2.
» Hannah George tied her single-game best with six strikeouts.
» Megan Dray extended her reached-base streak to 16 games. Leah Murray extended her hitting streak to 12 games.
» Brittany Pickett was intentionally walked for the second time in four games.
