Timmy Kelly earns honorable mention All-America honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Senior defenseman Jack Rowlett was named a third-team All-America defenseman by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association on Thursday hile senior midfielder Timmy Kelly was tapped as an honorable mention All-America as an offensive midfielder by the organization.

Rowlett was an honorable mention All-America in 2018 as named by the USILA so this was his second All-America honor. Kelly was named to an All-America Team for the first time. Kelly is a senior co-captain of the 2019 Tar Heels and a native of Lutherville, Md.

Rowlett, from Burke, Va., started all 15 games at close defense for the Tar Heels in 2019. He finished third on the team in ground balls with 43 and he led the Tar Heels with 23 caused turnovers, 11 more than any other Tar Heel in 2019. Kelly started all 15 games for the Tar Heels in the first midfield unit. He led UNC with 36 points. was second on the team with 16 assists and tied for second on the squad in goals scored with 20.
