Carolina Welcomes Imhof, Williams To WBB Staff
May 23, 2019 | Women's Basketball
CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina women's basketball coach Courtney Banghart continues to mold her staff by announcing the hiring of two familiar faces that have worked side-by-side with her previously at Princeton. Meghin Williams comes aboard as an Assistant to the Athletic Director and Director of Basketball Operations, while Jessica Imhof joins the program as the Director of Scouting and Video Operations.
Williams, who most recently spent the 2018-19 school year as an Assistant Director for Internal Operations at UNCG, will serve North Carolina as an Assistant to the Athletic Director and Director of Women's Basketball Operations.
Williams spent two years as Princeton's Director of Women's Basketball Operations during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 campaigns, before moving to UNCG. The Tigers reached the NCAA Tournament both seasons after winning the Ivy League's regular season and tournament titles.
"I'm so grateful to be adding Meghin to our Carolina family," said Banghart. "She's such a bright light. As a former player at Nebraska, Megs has walked in the shoes of a high-level collegiate athlete. As my former Director of Operations at Princeton, she is used to having her hands in all facets of a competitive program. And most recently coming from the administrative side of athletics, she is very well versed in college administration.
"Meghin is one of the hardest workers I've ever been around. She has a servant heart in all that she does and is highly organized. She is quick to smile and her positive energy raises the level of the room. Just one day into the job, she has already made an immediate impact on the program. I'm so excited to have Meghin along on this journey. Our players, alumni, and staff will absolutely love having her on the team."
Williams made two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances during her playing days at the University of Nebraska from 2009-13. She earned a broadcasting degree from UNL in 2013 and later transitioned to a student assistant in the women's basketball office in 2013-14. Williams would take part in the "So You Want to be a Coach" program that season at the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) National Convention.
She served two seasons (2014-15 and 2015-16) as a graduate assistant manager at Nebraska while working towards a master's degree of education and administration.
Imhof spent the 2018-19 basketball season at Princeton on Banghart's staff as Director of Operations. She joins the Carolina program as the Director of Scouting and Video Operations.
"After I first spoke to North Carolina about the opening in their women's basketball program, I knew I needed to have Jess along with me," Banghart said. "She is a rising star, a self-starter with the drive to learn new innovative strategies. Her charisma and wit bring others along and her work ethic is unmatched. Jess is the perfect teammate. She is thoughtful in her approach to people and to the game, and we will all be better having her perspective and insight in the room.
"Jess has an extensive film background and is known as one of the best in the business. She will ensure we are utilizing technology to best support the development of our players. Getting Jess on board was a must-have for me and a huge win for Carolina!"
Before Princeton, Imhof spent three seasons at VCU where she helped break down footage for scouting and evaluation, as well as a number of other duties. Prior to that, she was a two-year graduate assistant at Elmira College where she was involved in scouting and video breakdown. While at Elmira, she earned her master's degree in education.
Imhof was an assistant at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) where she played for four seasons, helping the Lions reached the Division III national semifinal in 2009.
