CHAPEL HILL - The unofficial start to the 2019 North Carolina football season takes place this week at ACC Football Kickoff, July 17-18, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Tar Heels will be represented by senior student-athletes Charlie Heck and Myles Dorn, and head coach Mack Brown on Thursday, July 18.

Heck has emerged as a leader on the Carolina offensive line starting 11 games each of the last two seasons. He led an offensive line that allowed just 0.91 sacks per game in 2018, seventh best in the nation and second in the ACC.Â
He was the team's Lineman of the Week twice last year and graded out at 82 or higher in seven of the nine graded games.Â
Dorn, who hails from Charlotte and is a product of Vance High School, has started all 20 games he has appeared in at safety the last two seasons and has played in 33 games thus far with the Tar Heels. He has 158 career tackles, including a career-high 71 stops as a sophomore in 2017.Â
He set a career high with 14 tackles at Syracuse last season among his 55 total stops in 2018 spanning eight games. Dorn is the son of former UNC running back and defensive back Torin Dorn, who played in Chapel Hill from 1986-89.Â
