UNC Releases 2019-20 Non-Conference Schedule

CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina women's basketball will serve as host to seven regular-season non-conference games, including the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, with three Power Five opponents in Missouri, Illinois and Alabama to begin the 2019-20 season. Carolina will face four in-state foes as part of the non-conference slate: Western Carolina, Elon, NC Central and UNCW.

Opening the season with four home games, the Tar Heels begin the Courtney Banghart era with the regular-season opener on Nov. 7 vs. Western Carolina. UNC takes on Navy on Nov. 11 and Charleston Southern Nov. 15. Carolina hosts Elon on Nov. 22 before traveling to the Cancun Challenge.

The Tar Heels will spend Thanksgiving at the Cancun Challenge in Mexico taking on a pair of teams Thursday and Friday. Carolina opens the tournament with Temple at 9 p.m. ET on Nov. 28. UNC's faces Mizzou, who reached the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament, at 6:30 p.m. ET on Nov. 29 to wrap up foreign play.

North Carolina returns home to host Illinois in the 2019 ACC/Big Ten Challenge Dec. 5. The Tar Heels take on NC Central on Dec. 8 at home.

UNC plays its only true road game of the non-conference slate at Alabama on Dec. 15 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. before playing UNCW as part of the Carolinas Challenge in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Carolina concludes 2019 at home, taking on Yale on Dec. 28. The ACC schedule will be released as it becomes available.
