CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina head coach Courtney Banghart announced the addition of Tori Niemann to the women's basketball staff on Tuesday. Niemann will serve as the Director of Outreach, Alumni Relations and Administration.
"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with such a storied program and excited to get to work with Coach Banghart, the staff and the team," Niemann said. "I look forward to getting to know more about Tar Heel alumni and supporters, and being a part of the Chapel Hill community."
Niemann comes to Chapel Hill from Clemson where she was the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development since August 2017. She oversaw all community service and engagement initiatives for the Tigers as well as assisting in profession, career and personal development. Niemann organized sport clinics for ClemsonLIFE students, Be A TIGER Field Day and Scout Day during her time at Clemson. She also coordinated international and domestic service trips for student-athletes. In her second year with the Tigers, Niemann facilitated 5,700 hours of service with 97 percent student-athlete participation.
Prior to Clemson, Niemann spent two years at her alma mater, Western Illinois, as the academic coordinator for football, women's basketball, softball, volleyball, men's soccer, and women's soccer. She was also the Life Skills Coordinator where she was in charge of career, personal, and leadership development as well as developing a female student-athlete initiative, Women Empowering.
Niemann was a women's basketball student-athlete at the University of Missouri before transferring to Western Illinois University where she received her undergraduate degree in journalism in 2013 and Master's degree in sport management in 2015.
