The 2019-20 North Carolina women's basketball team will practice together Thursday for the first time, kicking off first-year head coach Courtney Banghart's inaugural preseason in Chapel Hill.
UNC launches into team practice with six weeks before the start of the regular season. The Tar Heels will host Wingate for an exhibition game on Nov. 2 and then open against Western Carolina on Nov. 7. For a look at the entire schedule, click here.
After practicing on Thursday, the Tar Heels will take the court again on Friday with a much different vibe. The women's team will join the Carolina men's team for Late Night With Roy festivities Friday evening at the Smith Center. Admission is free. For details, click here.
The Tar Heels have been laying the season's foundation for months in preparation for stepping on the court Thursday. In addition to the new coaching staff, it's also the first UNC practice for four freshmen: guards Nia Daniel, Lexi Duckett and Kennady Tucker, and forward Malu Tshitenge.
