Tar Heels Begin Practice On Thursday

CHAPEL HILL—The University of North Carolina men's basketball team will begin practice for the 2019-20 season on Thursday afternoon, just over a month ahead of its November 6 season opener at home against Notre Dame.
Head coach Roy Williams is embarking on his 17th season at Carolina and does so facing the challenge of replacing four starters and the top five scorers from the 2018-19 team that shared the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title, earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and finished the year ranked No. 3 in the Associated Press poll.
Tar Heel players have spent the last several weeks preparing for practice with the preseason conditioning regimen of strength and conditioning coordinator Jonas Sahratian.
The Tar Heels also are in the midst of preparing for Friday night's Late Night With Roy. The team will welcome fans into the Smith Center on Friday beginning at 8 p.m. for Late Night.
