TAR HEELS AND HURRICANES
• North Carolina and Miami have met every season since the Hurricanes joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2004.
• UNC improved to 11-10 against Miami with a thrilling 28-25 victory in Chapel Hill last year.
• Sam Howell found Dazz Newsome just inside the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown with 1:01 left to help UNC rally for the win.

• Mack Brown is 1-0 against Miami. Last season in the home opener, Carolina won 28-25 on Sept. 7, 2019 in the first game for Brown in Chapel Hill since he left for Texas in 1997.

CFB AWARD SEMIFINALISTS
• Four Carolina players have been named semifinalists for major college football awards: Dyami Brown (Biletnikof), Sam Howell (Davey O'Brien, Maxwell), Chazz Surratt (Butkus, Lott) and Javonte Williams (Maxwell, Walker).

LAST TIME OUT
• Michael Carter rushed for three touchdowns and Sam Howell threw for two touchdowns as North Carolina rolled past Western Carolina 49-9 in its home finale Saturday. Carolina built a 42-3 halftime lead against the Football Championship Subdivision opponent.
• D'Eriq King threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score while Miami posted its first road shutout in 20 years by beating Duke 48-0 last Saturday night, marking a successful return from a two-week pause amid positive COVID-19 tests and quarantines.
