Tar Heels Fall Short to Wisconsin in Weekend Finale

CHAPEL HILL – Despite a one-run Tar Heel lead through the fifth inning, Wisconsin scored six runs in the sixth to secure the 8-3 victory against No. 25 North Carolina at Anderson Stadium on Sunday afternoon to wrap up the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
Wisconsin scored first on a pair of solo shots, but Carolina regained the lead in the fourth inning after a three-run home run by junior Zoë Goodman. The Tar Heels maintained their lead until the bottom of the sixth inning with one out on the board. An RBI-walk and one-run single followed by a grand slam homerun from Kayla Konwent secured the 8-3 win for the Badgers.
Following the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, Carolina sits at 5-5 while Wisconsin advances to 6-3. Carolina goes on to play NC Central at home on Tuesday.
