Carolina Travels to UNCG Invite

CHAPEL HILL – Following a split week at home, North Carolina travels to Greensboro to face Purdue, Fairfield and UNCG in the UNCG Invite Friday through Sunday.

UNC opens the tournament at the UNCG Softball Stadium Friday at 2:30 p.m. against Purdue. Carolina faces Purdue for a second time Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. before playing Fairfield at noon. The Tar Heels wrap up the tournament vs. UNCG Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Fans can follow live stats at unclivestats.com.
Recently for North Carolina (6-6)
Most recently, the Tar Heels registered 11 hits en route to a 7-0 win over NC Central Tuesday before falling short to No. 21 JMU, 6-3 on Wednesday. Despite the split week, Carolina tallied four home runs, including three vs. NC Central. Redshirt-junior Kristina Burkhardt leads the Tar Heels with a .343 average, slugging .600 thanks to four extra-base hits. Sophomore Hannah George owns five wins.
