Graham Receives ACC Player Of The Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina's Alexa Graham and Georgia Tech's Kenya Jones have been selected as the ACC Women's Tennis Co-Players of the Week.
Also announced on Tuesday, Carolina continued its run as the No. 1 ranked team in the country for a third week in a row according to the ITA.
This is the second time this month that Graham has been named the league's player of the week. This also marks her seventh citation covering the last two seasons.
A native of Garden City, New York, Graham posted an impressive week in the Tar Heels' wins over No. 2 Florida State (4-3) and No. 27 Miami (6-1). The UNC senior won both of her singles matches and paired up with Sara Daavettila for a doubles win. Graham's week was highlighted by a 6-7 (6), 6-4, 1-0 (3) win against the top-ranked singles player in the nation, Miami's Estella Perez-Somarriba.
Graham is 22-4 overall in singles as the No. 5 ranked player in the nation. Her 128 career singles wins is the third most in the storied history of UNC women's tennis. She is also ranked No. 4 nationally alongside Daavettila in doubles
Jones went undefeated in Georgia Tech's wins over No. 9 Virginia (4-3) and No. 49 Boston College (6-1) this past week. The senior from Memphis, Tennessee, picked up four ranked wins across the two matches, earning victories over Virginia's 15th-ranked Natasha Subhash (7-5, 6-4) and Boston College's No. 90-ranked Yufei Long (6-3, 6-3). In doubles, Jones teamed up with Victoria Flores to take down Boston College's No. 35-ranked duo of Kylie Wilcox and Long and defeat the No. 41-ranked pair of Chloe Gullickson and Amber O'Dell of Virginia (6-2).
Carolina is back home to host a pair of key ACC matches at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center this weekend. First up on Friday is No. 13 Virginia at 3 p.m. The program is welcoming back its former players on Alumni Day. Two standout alumna that will definitely be in attendance are Virginia head coach Sara (Anundsen) O'Leary and assistant coach Gina Suarez-Malaguti.
The Tar Heels also host No. 40 Virginia Tech on Sunday at 11 a.m.
