GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina is predicted to finish third in the Atlantic Coast Conference preseason football poll, while three Tar Heels - Michael Carter, Dazz Newsome and Chazz Surratt - were named to the 2020 Preseason All-ACC Team, as selected by the league's media members.

Surratt, who earned All-ACC first team honors in 2019 at linebacker, lands on the preseason team after a breakout junior campaign that saw him lead the Tar Heels with 115 tackles and was runner-up for ACC Defensive Player of the Year. In addition, Surratt and sophomore quarterback Sam Howell each received a vote for ACC Player of the Year.
Clemson is predicted to finish first in the ACC by 132 of the media panel's 134 voters and is picked to win the ACC Football Championship Game. In addition, Tigers junior quarterback Trevor Lawrence was selected as the ACC Preseason Player of the Year.
Notre Dame, who is competing as an ACC football member this season, received the remaining two first-place votes. North Carolina placed third, followed by Louisville, Virginia Tech and Miami.
