Meet the Heels: #1 Kiersten Licea

This week's Meet the Heels segment begins with the juniors. Kiersten Licea is a first baseman from San Antonio, Texas. The junior upped her batting average from .130 as a freshman to .313 as a sophomore. Licea had two multi-hit games and a team-best of three home runs in 2020, including vs. Lipscomb in the final game of the season.

Why Carolina? The moment I stepped on campus I felt at home. Plus, I'm getting a degree from one of the greatest universities while competing in a power 5 conference.
Favorite Softball Memory: Hitting a grand slam as my first home run against Michigan my first year.
Favorite Coach Saying: "Tell your friends." – Coach Barc
Favorite former Carolina player: Danny Green
Favorite place on campus: the quad (especially during the fall)
Major: psychology with a minor in exercise & sport science
Favorite class: social psychology

Pregame Superstition: Hit on the same tee (third tee in the second cage) with Abby before the game
Favorite tv show: Shameless
Hype song: "Dreams and Nightmares" by Meek Mill
Greatest sports moment: My greatest sports moment is when the 2019 UNC men's basketball team beat Duke and we all got to rush Franklin Street.
Hidden Talent: I can do the wave with my stomach, or eating.
Favorite UNC softball drill or weight room exercise: king of the infield
Favorite Carolina jersey: navy uniforms
One word to describe myself: high-spirited/goofy
