Volleyball Celebrates Senior Day Sunday Against Miami

CHAPEL HILL – The Carolina volleyball team will celebrate an outstanding class of eight seniors prior to Sunday's matchup with Miami. The final home game of the season is set for 1 p.m. in Carmichael Arena. Senior Day ceremonies will be begin at approximately 12:45.
Annabelle Archer, Amanda Phegley, Ryan Shannon, Meghan Neelon, Emma Reynolds, Nia Robinson, Erin Boone and Emily Zinger are set to be honored. This graduating class, made up of four seniors and four graduate transfers, have helped Carolina to the most wins in a season since 2016.
Archer, a setter from Fairjoy, Texas, is graduating in December with a degree in business administration and a minor in Spanish.
Phegley, a middle hitter from Tampa, Fla., is graduating in May 2022 with a degree in exercise and sport science with a sports administration.
Shannon, a libero/defensive specialist from Raleigh, N.C., is graduating with in December with a degree in exercise and sport science.
Neelon, a setter from Buffalo, N.Y., is graduating in spring of 2023 with a master's degree in exercise and sport science with a sports administration specialization.
Reynolds, a setter from Bakersfield, Calif., is gradating with a master's degree in public health and a leadership in practice concentration.
Robinson, an outside hitter from Indianapolis, Ind., will graduate in 2022 with a master's in media and communication.
Boone, an outside hitter/setter from Cary, N.C., will graduate in May 2022 with a degree in business administration and a minor in conflict management.
Zinger, a right-side hitter from Little Elm, Texas, will graduate in 2023 with a master's in exercise and sport science with an exercise physiology specialization.
Carolina enters the match 20-7 on the season and 9-7 in ACC play.
After Friday's game, the Tar Heels have just one regular-season game remaining, at Duke on Nov. 26. Then, the Heels will await the Division 1 Volleyball Selection Show on Nov. 28 to see if the team has made the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament.

• UNC leads the series with Miami 17-16. The Hurricanes have won the last two meetings
• UNC and Miami last met earlier this season on Oct. 1. Miami earned the 3-2 five set win, despite Carolina recording a season-best 70 kills in the match. Nia Parker-Robinson (24) and Mabrey Shaffmaster (21) led Carolina in kills
• UNC is 12-1 in Carmichael Arena over Miami. The Hurricane's last victory in Chapel Hill was Nov. 12, 2004
